Internet Explorer Iframe Folder Deletion Weakness

This bug has been confirmed by Secunia and was discovered by Cyber Flash.

The problem is that network shares can be included in an iframe where only certain parts of the content is visible to the user. This can e.g. be exploited to trick users into deleting local folders via an iframe referencing "\\127.0.0.1\c$\".

Successful exploitation requires that the user selects a folder icon, presses the delete key, and accepts a "Folder Delete" dialog.

The weakness has been confirmed on a fully patched

Suggested solution:
Do not accept suspicious "Folder Delete" dialogs when visiting untrusted web sites.

It is categorized as not critical.

Zip Error: Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive

Have you face the similar problem before? Well, i do. Apparently, this error prompt up when some part of the zip file is corrupted during an interupted download. This may make you day worst if you're downloading a big, i mean huge, file for like few days. Redownloading the file doesn't seems to be a solution.

Windows Live(TM) Mail Beta

I'm one of the lucky participant who get the chance to try out Windows Live(TM) Mail, which is currently under Beta. The interface is simple and rather clean which suits very well to my liking. However, I'm having some problem in accessing the page when i'm in my office but have no problem when i'm at home. I'm not sure if the proxy in my office causes the difficulty in accessing the page. But well, it won't bring down my interest with Hotmail.

Some features which i love about Hotmail are:

1) Offers 2GB storage space.
2) Allows me to access my mailbox through outlook.
3) Provide the feature where it notify me of new mail whenever i login my msn account

Of cause, there are other great feature which is offered in the new Windows Live Mail. I also noticed that they are offering some cool new upcoming features..

4Daily.com down, WebAdCash.com up

All of you might have know the news about 4daily.com, 4dailypro.com and stormpay.com. Even with the investigation going on, 4daily.com since to try its best to find a way out.

Due to the frozen investment in Stormpay, most of the HYIP programs is not able to survive through. Realising the golden opportunity, 4daily took a step ahead and lauch another program, WebAdCash. Apparently, this new program has totally different concept from the previous one. One thing which they are good with, hunt the existing users(i know because i'm an existing user).

This is an excerpt from the email sent:

As a member of 4Daily.com, you are aware that the site has closed because of actions taken by StormPay.com to freeze funds of "auto-surf" websites. Despite our insistence that 4Daily.com was not a "Ponzi" or pyramid scheme, we are being treated as guilty until proven innocent. StormPay continues to deny access to our account without cause or sensible explanation. They claim that funds will be held for 180 days and/or returned to the spenders. They indicated that we are unlikely to get our account back.

4Daily.com has still not been contacted by any "investigators" or anyone else about our business plan. StormPay's actions, plus the grossly misleading media coverage given to the events surrounding 12DailyPro.com and StormPay.com, indicate to us
that sites like 12DailyPro.com, 4Daily.com and the many others using similar programs, can no longer succeed.

With those matters in mind, we have developed an alternative program which completely avoids any connotations of the other sites. Although it uses the same auto-surf engine, its monetary systems and marketing approach are completely different to the sites currently under question.

Malaysian's blog advertised on Adbrite

Liewcf, a malaysian citizen who own few blogs including Liewcf.com, advertised his blogs on Adbrite. I was surprised when i saw the ads header seems pretty familiar. Out of curiousity, i roll over and noticed it was his, Liewcf's blog.

It's not a big deal advertising in Adbrite, but i'm surprised as it is one of the blog that i occasionally visit. His blog covers a wide range of topic, from latest gadget news to current affair. Yousendit, new interface, new version!

Yousendit came up with accounts for user to signup. It's currently in beta stage. Based on my observation, most free file hosting now are more transparent with their policy. They are getting more strict on what are the files uploaded onto their server. I guess this is to curb "copyright issue" eh? Even Megaupload set up a community forum for the users to file complaint or report service abuse. This is great to mantain a healthy Internet space and to reduce what I've mentioned, "copyright issue". But somehow, it needs the cooperation of all and not just one. If only one hoster get strict, the user may just change to others. Not sure if it will work, but wishing all the best to the hosters.

New Q6 Trivia Game on MSN Messenger

I think most of you have already heard of it, excerpt me. I got to know this game through email from MSN. Apparently MSN is trying to get more members. They are currently offering sweet prizes like a Dell UltraSharp 17" Flat Panel Monitor or an Xbox™ 360 prize pack. It's certainly attractive enough to me. I bet there will be alot of users signing up to try their luck on it. But well, i'm obviously not those type. I dont have such luck tho.

Google updated its' Pagerank?

Well, i just noticed this blog of mine gained a pagerank of 5. This is no big deal but to me it's a great achievement tho. Would really hope to see the day this blog achieve pagerank 7 or 8 but i guess when the time comes, Google will come up with another algorithm to rank the site. Slide - Photo sharing for groups, photo discovery, and messaging for groups

Another Feedster-alike service but feeding your photo blog called Slide. I happened to see Slide's flash(looks like Flickr) on one of the blog. Slide provide a unique feature where by viewer are allowed to tweak the speed of the image scrolling. It's kind of cool when you want to skip some "not-interested" photo.

I guess this is the unique thing i like alot about slide. You can also feed other's photo rss feeds'. If you are wondering wether you can feed slide with your album, surprisingly you can. Just download one of their software, the slide player. Mac users are also taken care off, so don't worry, you can join in the fun. But sorry to say, *nix/nux OS is not supported currently.

One more thing which i think it might be cool for eBay users are, you can create a slide for your items that you're selling. Doesn't that cool?

Designing a Web site so that search engines easily find the pages and index them. The goal is to have your page be in the top 10 results of a search.

There are lots of article about SEO and i just read one of it, High Accessibility Is Effective Search Engine Optimization. It's a great article indeed. I don't have messenger installed on my laptop and i need to access MSN. I know ICQ provides web based ICQ program for user to access ICQ(Flash based), but not MSN. I was in a hurry and need to access msn fast so i head over to google for solution.

Little did i know, MSN do have their web-based program which is fuss-free and easy. I didn't know it till today, i won't install that annoying-msn-program on any of my computer anymore. Besides, i'll recommending the web address to others if they ever need to access msn network. This is cool.

I saw this interface when i visit Gmail website...

I thought it was Gmail's new interface, but then i was wrong. It was a "logo" for the Gmail Talk. Without hesitation, i login into my Gmail account. Yep, i saw the little "chats" link appear on the left side menu.

So i was a member of 12daily.com, just to earn hits and not income. I didn't invest any single cent and never give it a try eighter. I don't know, i just don't believe in those program. Unlike PPC program or textlink program, i'm have much confident toward those sort of income. I've been paid by Crispads, Linkconnector and Linkworth. So far, those company that run those programs paid me.

As stated in the topic, 4daily.com site is officially closed now. Visiting their site will prompt you with announcement of the site being shutdown due to...

There's nothing much concern to me. I've heard people investing hundreds and even thousand bucks into those program. I'm not sure how will they feel now. I guess they won't get much hurt eighter, cause they probably, already prepared for it.

4daily also posted the mass-mail sent by Stormpay to its' merchant, informing them of the reason of their account being frozen. From what i've understand, it's due to them suspected running pyramid scheme that causes their account being banned.

Pyramids don't pay. StormPay Inc. and the Federal Trade Commission caution consumers about clubs or programs that promise quick money for recruiting new members. Don't bank on the pyramid promise that someone else will pay you. For more information on get-rich-quick schemes, visit the FTC at www.ftc.gov."

I didn't know pyramid scheme gets such a big issue in oversea. Here in Malaysia, you can hear people introducing pyramid scheme to others, and more worst still, the company that those people are representing is from big corporates. Hrmm.... I'm not quite sure how the law operated so don't ask me more about it.

If your account is also frozen by stormpay, then this question-answer statement in they mass-email may be usefull for you...

We know that the most prominent question in your mind is "What happens to the money I sent these programs?" Answer: At the moment any funds frozens in these merchant's accounts are frozen and not payable until all investigations are completed. At such time investigations are completed, any remaining funds will be released to the merchant's, or refunded to the purchasers, based on the outcome of the investigations. Please be aware if determination is made that these are ponzi schemes, a great deal of the funds received by these merchant's will have been used to pay obligations to those who joined earlier into the programs. In other words, they will have used your money to pay other members thus creating a deficit of funds needed to refund all users.
